| Deaths DEATHS E. MUNSEY SLACK BRISTOL Dec- 8 — Funeral services will be held at S a m Saturday from the late residence in Abingdon Va for E Munsey Slack 61 president of the Bristol Publishing corporation who died in George Ben Johnston hospital at Abingdon at 8 45 a m Thursday. Burial will be at Pulaski Va. Mr Slack suffered a cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday night while attending a dinner party at the vice-president. They were of Abingdon. He was removed to the hospital but died without regaining consciousness. Born in Bristol Tenn, Mr Slack was twice married first on December 31 1902 to Maxie Cox of Johnson City, This marriage was terminated by divorce. On November 28 1936 he was married to Mary Trollinger of Pulaski. In addition to his widow he is survived by the following children by the first marriage Mrs. Amelia Copenhaver Mrs Julia Stout, Thad Cox Slack. Munsey Slack Jr of Bristol, the latter being a student at William and Mary college, James Abraham Slack of Nashville, John Charles Slack of Athens Tenn, and Mrs Embree Slack Booher of Elkins NC. Mr Slack was educated at King college and at Franklin college in Indiana Before becoming president of the corporation publishing the Bristol Herald-Courier and News-Bulletin he established the Johnson City Staff and published it until 1924 |
