  	Obituaries, Tuesday, August 21, 2007 Eugene Barker 1931-2007 Mr. Eugene T. Barker, 75, of Georgetown, Ind., and formerly of La Porte, died suddenly Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, Ky. He was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Kingman, Ind., to Lloyd and Madge (Drollinger) Baker, and had lived in Georgetown for two years, coming from La Porte. Mr. Barker retired as an architectural brick salesman and was the former owner and operator of Art Needlework Shops in La Porte and Michigan City. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Michigan City, Potawatomi Chapter of the Audubon Society, Michigan City Lions Club and La Porte County Farm Bureau. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and received the Good Conduct Medal. On May 30, 1953, in La Porte, he married Joan Vlock, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Lisa (Ralph) Bergmann of Georgetown; one son, Thomas (Jeni) of Miramar, Fla.; one grandson, Max Barker Bergmann; and three brothers, Eldon of Ventura, Calif., Robert of Glen Arbor, Mich., and Joseph of Martinsville, Ind. His parents preceded him in death. A memorial service was held at Pearson Funeral Home, Louisville, on Aug. 14. Essling Funeral Home, La Porte, was in charge of local arrangements.
