He married Sylvia Drollinger at age 19, in Marion, Ohio September 23, 1920. They raised a daughter and a son. By the age of 40 he was working as an Acetylene Welder at the Marion Steam Shovel Co. He died at Marion General Hospital March of 1962 at the age of 62.
