  	I was informed early Saturday afternoon (22 September) that my Aunt, Bertha Alice Green-Peebles (daughter of Bertha Matilda Drollinger-Green) passed away at 0520 hours on Saturday, in either Harrisonburg or Jonesville, LA. I believe that Aunt Bertha Alice was 85? I spoke with my cousin Alice Peebles-Pecanty(?) and she told me that Aunt Bertha Alice was going to have a Wake yesterday afternoon (Sunday), and that her funeral was going to be today at 1000 hours at the First Baptist Church in I believe Jonesville, LA(??). Once I get the further details I will let you know. I did send flowers to the funeral and spoke with the florist in Jonesville who was putting the casket flowers together.   Funeral services for Bertha Alice Peebles, age 86, of Harrisonburg, who died Saturday, September 22, 2007, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, were held at 10am Monday, September 24, 2007, at Harrisonburg First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Green officiating. Internment followed at Heard Cemetery in Manifiest under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville. Mrs. Peebles was born December 18, 1929 (1920 sic), in Alva, OK, the daughter of Charles and Bertha Green. She was a resident of Harrisonburg and a member of the Harrisonburg First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Peebles, and her son, Allen Peebles. Survivors include her sons, Robert M. Peebles and wife Leona, of Denver, CO, Charles Peebles and wife Myra of Owasso, OK, and Billy Carl Graham of Austin, TX, and her daughter Alice Pecanty and husband Jerry, both of Harrisonburg. Mrs Peebles is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Sweeney of Winnfield, KS and Ethel Poovey of Westphalia, KS; ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were Herbert Terry and L.C. Wiley.
