  Robert Crawford Sr., Retired Jeweler, Dies Robert Ordell Crawford Sr., 80, of 109 Walker Drive, retired Butler Jeweler, died at 5 p.m. yesterday in the Butler Memorial Hospital. Mr. Crawford founded the Crawford Jewelry Store on North Main Street Butler, in September 1924, and operated it until his retirement in 1951. The business is now operated by his sons. Mr. Crawford was a founder and one of the first directors of the Western Pennsylvania Jewelers Association. The senior Crawford, before going into the jewelry firm, was owner of the Crawford Auto Company from 1916 until 1924. He was a member of the North Street Christian Church and the United Commercial Travelers Lodge. Active in Masonic orders, he was a 50 year member of the Corinthian Lodge 573, F and AM of Millvale, and a member of the Lorraine Commandary Knights Templar of Butler: New Castle Consistory, Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh, Royal Arch Chapter 273 of Butler, Butler Caravan 14 and Butler Shrine Luncheon Club. Mr. Crawford was active in the Slippery Rock Park Civic Association and was instrumental in the construction of the Slippery Rock Golf Course. Born in Valentia, he was the son of Robert G. and Selina Crawford. He had resided in Butler for nearly 48 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Beulah Crawford, formerly of Millvale, to whom he was married for 57 years; a daughter, Mrs. John C. (Margaret) Daum of Butler; and three sons, Gayle L., Robert O (Bob) Crawford Jr., and Delano A. (Pete) Crawford, all of Butler, and six grandchildren. Will of Robert O. Crawford on file in Butler County Courthouse mentions children as follows: Robert Orville son 107 Walker Drive; Gayle Lewis daughter 432 Vista Drive; Beulah Margaret C.
