- George N. Trolinger, 89, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Eastwood Manor in Commerce, Okla. He was born to G.P. and Rosa Trolinger in Miami, Okla. on December 20, 1925. He resided in Miami his entire life.
George is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Rachel Trolinger, his parents, G.P. and Rosa Trolinger, his brother Max Trolinger, daughter Deanna Keener and his son-in-law James Andrews.
He is survived by his three children, John Trolinger and wife Debbie of Claremore, Okla., Nancy Andrews of Stillwater, Okla. and Sherry Smith and husband Dan of Commerce, Okla., his son-in-law, Jim Keener of Miami, Okla. his brother Don Trolinger of Miami, Okla., ten grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Shortly after marrying, George and his bride Rachel moved to their farmhouse outside of Miami where they lived for 56 years and raised their four children. He was a faithful employee of the U.S. Postal Service where he enjoyed delivering mail to many. George was a farmer at heart. He spent years raising cattle and tending to his pecan grove. He was a lifetime member of Miami Elks Lodge No. 1320 and the Miami Jaycees. George loved playing cribbage both nationally and locally as well as Bingo at the VFW. At the age of 17, George joined the United States Army where he faithfully served in World War II.
George lived a full wonderful life. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami. Rev. Ed McFall will officiate. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery of Miami with military honors by the American Legion Post 147 Funeral Detail. Grandsons serving as pallbearers will be, Scott Trolinger, Thomas Trolinger, Stephen Trolinger, Danny Ray Smith, Bradley Smith and K.C. Andrews. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
