The paper lists John's name & birth place, Hiram's name & birth place and then where Florence's name should appear, its says "I was born in La Porte . . ." Also, her handwriting in her letters to Emily Vail was very hard to read and this handwriting looked similar to that handwriting. I did scan it when I was fixing the scanner so I'll e-mail it to you from home.
Also, when I was looking up the class listings from La Porte High School, I found many of the names written under the photos in the photo album that I have. I have several photos of Florence. I have one photo of Florence with an older woman and have wondered if it might be her mother - a very petite woman. Have a good weekend. Becky Wills
I was having problems with my printer/scanner and had to search my desk to locate the CD with the print drivers on it and I found another box of old family letters and papers. This seems to have some of the Druliner stuff in that I was missing. There was several sheets of paper written by Florence Druliner which again says that she is descended from John Druliner. It also gave some more background on the Morris family.
I also found that she graduated from La Porte High School in 1878. Her husband, Homer Hood, graduated in 1881. I found this on www.slicerland.com. There were some Drollingers listed as graduates.
Gordon,
I hope you don't mind but I found some more information on Hiram Druliner. From the family bible: Hiram King Druliner - born 12/11/1837(6), died 9/5/1895; Anna Louise Rush, wife of Hiram K. Druliner - born 2/20/1839, died in Nashville, Tenn 12/23/1900.
Homer M. Hood and Florence Druliner were married in St. Bartholemew's Church, Englewood, ILL (Chicago) 10/20/1886. Homer M. Hood, Born in LaPorte, Ind 6/30/1863 and died in LaPorte, Ind. 9/2/1927. Allen Kennedy Hood born in Minneapolis, Minn 4/21/1892 (Homer and Florence's first child, my grandfather). I can't believe that I don't have Florence's birth and death information.
I also found a paper with the following information:

There was an old cemetery on the west edge of La Porte, called the Old City Cemetery. It was closed for the most part in the 1870's, when both Pine Lake and Patton Cemetery had been established. In a newspaper article dated 23 March 1893, a list of names were published of those buried in the Old City Cemetery. It offered relatives a chance to relocate their deceased loved ones to the cemetery of their choice. Those that weren't claimed were moved in 1893 and are now buried in a mass grave in the Pine Lake Cemetery.

EDITORIAL. (copied from LaPorte Democrat, concerning Cinn. Peru & Chi. R.R.)
Mr. DRULINER, superintendent, stated that ownership of the road is in litigation before the Supreme Court in Washington. The case concerns ownership of the railroad, with W. J. WALKER, lessee, one of the principal contestants in the suit. "No doubt but the counties through which the road passes will vote all the men and money necessary to complete the enterprise.
"It would be to their own pecuniary advantage to do so, even should they receive nothing in the way of dividends, Fulton County is more especially interested in the completion of the road, than any other along the line; and we believe her citizens have at all times evinced a disposition to do the fair thing in the matter of material aid ....
