  	Ida Florence VanArsdel Ida Florence VanArsdel wife of Captain Chester VanArsdel, of the South Bend fire department, died at Epworth Hospital last night at 10:20 after an illness of 6 days. Aged 31 years 6 months and 12 days. About one week ago Mrs. VanArsdel fell from the rear steps of her home, 724 E. Washington St. and bruised her limb. Nothing was thought of the accident, and she made daily visits to Epworth hospital to see her husband who was injured in a collision with a Grand Trunk freight train while answering a call to a fire. It was while returning to her home from the hospital that she caught a severe cold and had an attack of tonsillitis which gradually became more serious and Friday morning she was taken to the hospital. The case developed into tetanus or lockjaw with fatal results. Besides a husband she leaves 3 little children, a boy aged 8 years, one girl aged 4 years, and a baby girl aged 2 years. She also leaves besides her parents, one brother and one sister. The sympathy of the entire city is with Captain VanArsdel in his trouble. The funeral will be held from the family residence, 724 E. Washington St., Mon. afternoon at 2:00. Rev. Samuel H. King pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial in Riverview Cemetery.
