Notes - William P. Linkous was a Primitive Baptist preacher and began preaching at the age of twenty-four years. He was highly respected by all who knew him and was considered one of the leading preachers of his denomination. He was ordained a minister in 1840 and was elected Clerk of the Washington Association in 1865. He is buried at Dry Fork, Tazewell County, VA. SOURCE: 1.
