  	Doris Dorothy Dean Hains, 87, died Friday, April 20, 1990 at Crestwood Care Center. A special thanks to the loving and caring staff at the center. Born January 28, 1903 in Danville, Illinois, daughter of Clark Allen and Mary Florence Drollinger Dean. She lived in Danville, Shelbyville, IL, and St. Louis, MO before moving to Ogden on July 4, 1919, where she graduated from Ogden High School and the Smithsonian Business College. She married Lewis LeRoy Hains, Jr. on October 15, 1923 in Ogden; he died April 13, 1978. She entered employment at the Ogden Union Railway and Depot Co. on July 16, 1971 in the Superintendent's office, and worked as a clerk, secretary to the Superintendent, and for a short time, as Assistant Chief clerk in that office; also as personal record and pass clerk, and at the time of the division of OUR&D Co., she was transferred to General Clerk in the office of Superintendent, Union Pacific, which position she held at the time of her retirement in February 1971 after forty-nine years and eight months of service. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, taught in the Kindergarten seventeen years; acted as church membership chairperson; and later as Secretary-Treasurer of the Sunday School for over 30 years; member United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway, Airline, and Steamship Clerks; also Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Old Timers Clubs; as well as member of UP Older Timers Auxiliary. She was a charter member and past president of both the Lomond Chapter of the National Secretaries Assoc., and the National Assoc. of Railway Business Women. She is survived by daughter, Mrs. Raymond E. (Lou Dean) Roderick, Roy; three grandchildren, Ren P. Roderick, Bothell, WA; Lou Ann Morgan, Frank Fuet, GO; Karen Watterson, LaPorte, IN. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th Street, where friends may call on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:15-1:15 p.m. Interment: Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
