- While doing some research on Ancestry.com sometime around 20 Mar 2009looking for information about my Granmother Bernice Slate's side ofthe family, I had noticed that a submitter did seem to haveinformation on her branch alright and I contacted that person throughAncestry.com. Unfortunately, I didn't keep a copy of exactly what Ihad asked them and they did not include it in their reply back to mein my personal email account. The following is the response to myquery:

I just read your message on ancestry. me an my mom share the account,she tends to use it more than i do and told me i had a message.
The Slates run on my moms side of the family through her father'smother. Most of the info I have on them is from my mother, and a fewslates related in my line that use to spend time with my grandfathergrowing up. Leon Slate and another that for some reason i cant thinkof his name at the moment.
My grandfather was William Albert Vaughn his parents were Lloyd ScottVaughn and Gertrude Virginia Slate.
Gertrude's parents were Albert Alonzo Slate and Mary Ann Strong.
Alberts Parents were Henry Chesterfield Slate and Sarah ElizabethRhodes. Alberts brother John William Slate married a Cornelia C.Teffeteller i believe an your grandmother was their daughter, NeliaIvory Bernice Slate.
I dont have all the blanks filled in but i do have siblings names,some dates some marriages. Im not sure of how muchy ou want but imwilling to share. just let me know what your looking for.
