      NOVEMBER 7, 1929
Isaac Kidd Trullinger was born near Covington, Indiana on February 2, 1838. Four years later he came with his parents, Abraham and Margaret Trullinger, to Van Buren County, Iowa, and two years following that they located at a homestead at Drakeville, Davis County, Iowa.
In 1845 the father died, leaving four small boys, Isaac being the youngest. Twelve years later his mother died.
When nineteen years old, Isaac, with a large number of others, including George Drake, united with the Christian Church at Drakeville and for more than seventy years he was a faithful member of the church and for several years an elder.
He was married to Martha J Brooks, January 24, 1858, and three years later they moved to Attica, Indiana, where they resided on a farm until 1866 and then moved to Hamburg, living there for four years. They then moved to the farm known as the Trullinger farm, southeast of Farragut. They moved to Farragut thirty-eight years ago.
They never had any children of their own, but they often shared their home with children and were lovingly called Aunt Matt and Uncle Ike. In 1910 Mrs. Trullinger died and since then his great niece, Mrs. Elmer Parker, and husband, have cared for him.
The funeral was held at the local Christian church, Tuesday, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Clark W Comstock preaching the sermon. The music was furnished by Seth Cox, Fred Long, CC Campbell and George Carter. The pall bearers were six of his nephews, Henry Joll and Francis Trullinger of Maryville, Missouri; JW Trullinger of Shenandoah; James Trullinger of Central City, Nebraska; and Frank Trullinger of Clark, Nebraska. The floral offerings, many and beautiful, were tokens of love and esteem.
He was a charter member of the first Christian church to be organized in this vicinity and continued faithful through all the years. Mr. Trullinger was the oldest citizen of Farragut and had had many experiences in life. Burial was made in the family lot in the Farragut Cemetery.
