    • Diana ?Diane? Lynn Large, age 66 of Albia, Iowa, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at her home.

      She was born on July 25, 1949 in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Maxine (Lingren) Danes. Diane graduated from Albia High School. She then attended Iowa Beauty School in Ottumwa, Iowa. Following graduation, Diane worked several years in Newton, Iowa as a hairdresser.

      Diane was united in marriage to Charles ?Charlie? Large on May 26, 1979 in Des Moines, Iowa. The couple resided in Newton, Iowa together.

      Following her career as a beautician, Diane became employed with Wal-Mart in Newton. She also earned her Iowa Real Estate license during this period of time and worked for a real estate firm in Newton.

      Diane transferred to Wal-Mart in Ottumwa, Iowa when the couple relocated to Albia, Iowa. She later became employed at Viskase in Centerville, Iowa, working for the factory for sixteen years until her retirement in 2010.

      Diane enjoyed many hobbies throughout her lifetime, including Bingo, camping, and gambling, especially playing the slot machines. Moreover, Diane and Charlie enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, as well as visiting many other states throughout the country. She was also a longtime member of the Albia VFW Auxiliary. Most importantly, Diane loved her family and friends.

      She is survived by her husband of thirty seven years, Charles ?Charlie? Large of Albia, Iowa; five children, Christy (Chuck) Trullinger of Urbandale, Iowa, Sue Valentine of Adel, Iowa, David Large of Newton, Iowa, Corey (Angie) Bakalar of Marysville, Iowa and Rodney Bakalar; ten grandchildren, Chuck Trullinger, Gary Trullinger, Dawn Madsen, Jennifer Wood, Aaron Valentine, Roxanne Landgrebe, Ryan Large, Austin Bakalar, Tristan Bakalar, and Katelyn Bakalar; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Danes of Ark City, Kansas; as well as a host of other relatives.

      Diane was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Linda Voglaar.

      Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory in Centerville, Iowa with Pastor Lloyd Johnston officiating. A visitation will take place 6-8PM Monday evening at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory in Centerville. Burial will follow in the Hilltown Cemetery, south of Moulton, Iowa.
