      Druelinger - Nancy
      (nee Norton)
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Absolutely loved and cherished by her children, Erin, Joshua and Thomas, as well as her eight siblings, six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends. Growing up in Sloan, NY as the oldest of nine, Nancy moved to East Aurora with her parents and siblings in 1964, writing her own script for the role of big sister and "assistant mom" while a teenager. After graduating from Buffalo State College Nancy experienced and enjoyed living, working and raising her young family in Elizabeth City, NC, Concord, NH, and later Washington, DC. But East Aurora was always home, where she welcomed friends, family and especially her grandkids to enjoy "family-time" on Maple Road. In addition to raising her kids and being a loving "Nana" to her grandkids, Nancy found time for two meaningful careers during her adult life: one as a newspaper reporter and photographer for the Daily Advance in Elizabeth City, NC. And the second after returning to school at Buffalo State College and earning a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology. Nancy then had a long and fulfilling career as a Teacher/Speech Pathologist with Erie County BOCES where she touched countless lives, helping children and their families through their challenges and struggles in overcoming learning and speech difficulties. During this time Nancy reestablished her strong ties to East Aurora, her beloved Buffalo Bills, and to family and countless friends in the area, both old and new. In retirement Nancy stayed busy and engaged, giving back to the community by volunteering her time, energy and passion by helping victims of domestic abuse find safe living arrangements via the WNY Justice Center, joining other concerned mothers in seeking common sense gun safety laws with Moms Demand Action, and spreading her love of education, history and America as a volunteer docent at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in Washington, DC. Nancy very much enjoyed biking, hiking, swimming, cooking (and eating!!), taking care of her home and yard and days spent just relaxing and picnicking at the beach. She also loved to travel to visit family and friends, and to explore new places like Sevilla, Spain and Paris, France with her daughter Erin. But most of all, Nancy enjoyed hosting family gatherings and spending time loving and laughing with those who loved her too. She will be greatly missed. Arrangements by WOOD FUNERAL HOME.
