- Calvin Ralph Riley, 85, of Jefferson City passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born on May 7, 1930 in Gasconade County, Missouri the son of William and Daisy (Drullenger) Riley.
He was united in marriage on November 23, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska to Lois Frobish, who preceded him in death on January 13, 2011.
He proudly served our country in the United States Army as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He then joined the Naval Reserve Seabees. After the completion of his service, he continued to stay on at the Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska as a Civilian Heavy Equipment Mechanic. He then moved back to Missouri where he worked for over 20 years at Capital Region Medical Center in the Maintenance Department.
Calvin was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed casting a line in the Missouri and Gasconade Rivers to reel in the big one, hunting and tracking various animals and enjoyed being in nature. He treasured the time he spent with his family and loved the memories he made with them.
He is survived by one daughter: Dorene Nilges of Jefferson City; one son: Larry (Deloris) Riley of Allen, Texas; two brothers: Ray (Laura) Riley of Kansas City, Missouri and Gerald (Donna) Riley of Hermann, Missouri; two sisters: Ruth Waggoner of Washington, Missouri and Mutz Lewis of Big Springs, Missouri; five grandchildren: Amanda Arp, Angela Arp, Matthew Riley, Rachelle Nilges and Robyn Nilges and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, two grandsons and one sister.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors in Jefferson City. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Interment will be private for the family. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
