- RICHARD TROLLINGER Mr. Richard (Packey) O'Riley Trollinger, 68, a resident of 1324 20th St. died Friday evening, Feb. 27, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Hospital.
Masonic services will be held in Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum on Tuesday at 2 p.m., conducted by Revolution Masonic Lodge 552.
Mr. Trollinger was born Nov. 22, 1929 in Guilford Co., a son of North Edison Trollinger, Sr. and Opal Zela Kannett. He was a structural steel inspector for Carolina Steel Co. Mr. Trollinger was a member of New Garden Lodge 1884 Loyal Order of the Moose and was a member of the Tar Heel Legion 158. As a member of the New Garden Lodge, he served as an Interguard, had served as Chairman of the Legion Activities Committee and was presently serving as a Trustee of the Lodge. As a member of the New Garden Lodge, he served his lodge and community faithfully. A master mason, he was a member of Revolution Masonic Lodge 552 A.F.& A.M. He held a black belt in Tri-Kwan-Do. A veteran of the Korean conflict, he served with the U.S. Navy as a member of the SeaBees. Mr. Trollinger was a retired Sgt. with the Greensboro Police Reserves and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Surviving are one daughter, Deborah Trollinger Bare of Franklinville; two sons, Keith Alan Trollinger of Wentworth, Richard Edison Trollinger of McLeansville; three brothers, North Edison Trollinger, Jr., Douglas K. Trollinger, Don Trollinger, all of Greensboro; four grandchildren, Deanna Sue Jonas, Kelly Rae Trollinger, Kaleb McKinley Trollinger, Kevin Bradley Trollinger; two great-grandchildren. Mr. Trollinger was preceded in death by a grandson, Kenneth Wayne Mabe.
The family will receive friends at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home tonight from 7-9 p.m.
