- Henry Garland Wallace left this earth to be with our Lord on Nov 12, 2010, at St. Catherine's Center in Waco.
A graveside service with Army honors will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Patterson will be officiating. Visitation we be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.
Henry was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Axtel, Texas, to Arthur Daniel and Julia Frances Trollinger Wallace. He was the fifth of their ten children born to this union.
He married the love of his life, Dasma "Jimmie" Gummelt on Jun 15, 1946, in Waco. To their union were born two children, David Garland and Janice Lynne Wallace.
Henry worked as a welder for Hammond Machine Shop and retired from the VA hospital after 20 years of service in 1985.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jimmie; his son, David.
He is survived by his daughter, Janice; one brother, Bill Wallace; and two sister, Laura Ling and Shirley Springfield; also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank everyone at St. Catherine's and Providence Hospice for their care and compassion.
