- Mary Margarette Neal, 87, of Lorena, Texas, passed away peacefully, Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at St. Catherine's in Waco. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, followed by burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Neal, in 1987; sons-in-law, Jerry Highfill and John Cleavelin; grandson, Scott Highfill; parents, Arthur Daniel Wallace and Julia Trollinger Wallace; sisters, Edna Earl Cook and Nell Wallace; brothers, R.L. "Bob" Wallace, A.L. Wallace and Roy Wallace; brothers-in-law, Clinton Cook, Melvin Ling and Bobby Harrington; and sister-in-law, Jimmie Wallace.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Wanda Cleavelin, Judy Chaney and husband, John, Floyd Neal and wife, Cecelia, Jerry Neal and wife, Donna, and Billy Neal; grandchildren, Kelly James, J.B. Chaney III, Stephanie Phillips, Billy Wayne Neal, Jeremy Neal, Becca Hiatt, and Tracey Neal; great-grandchildren, Morgan White, Taylor James, Isabella Phillips, J.B. Chaney IV, Mason Chaney, Jolee Neal, Issac Neal, Christopher Hiatt and Zak and Robin Neal; great-great grandson, Johnathan White; sisters, Laura Ling and Shirley Springfield; brothers, Garland and Bill Wallace; sisters-in-law, Imalene Neal Wallace and Bonnie Wallace; brothers-in-law, Wendell Neal and Chester Springfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be J.B. Chaney III, John B. Chaney Jr., Wilbur Cook, Willie James, Paul Phillips and Gary Hiatt.
The family would like to extend their love and a very special thank you to Amanda Moreno, for being a caregiver and friend to Mother for many years. We would also like to express our gratitude to the staff of Providence Hospital and St. Catherine's for their kindness and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
