  • Notes
    • If Nancy Matilda C. Trollinger (b abt TN) is in fact the daughter of Lucretia, then who was her father? According the censuses, Nancy was white. And if Jacob Akens (Akers) "Jack" Trolinger was black, he could not have been Nancy's father otherwise she would have been identified in the censuses as mulatto or black.

Apparently Jacob died before 1839 as Lucretia shows up in the 1850 census as head of household. Nothing to suggest Jacob was black. Psalm Book of Adam 1765 Trolinger with his children's birth recorded has Jacob Akens birth recorded. Adam and his descendants were white. The confusion comes from Lucretia having black or mulatto children by a different man. Gordon L. Drollinger 8 June 2017

Note: In the 1870 Census Lucretia, John and Matilda were all neighbors and were enumerated on the same page (page 19) as follows:
John Trollinger (son of Lucretia) - Dwelling order of visitation: 142
Lucretia Trollinger - Dwelling order of visitation: 143
Matilda Trollinger (Daughter of Lucretia) - Dwelling order of visitation: 145
