- Amita Merita "Shorty" Trollinger, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Mike Chamberlain, Troy Pate, Keith Shaw, Lester Trollinger, James Williams and Roger Williams.
Amita was born May 8, 1921, in Weatherford, to Claude and Maude Carter Adams. She and husband Lester Trollinger were married Dec. 24, 1977, in Mineral Wells. Amita dedicated her life to the Lord and her family; she always put the needs of others before her own. Amita was the loving matriarch of the family; her humor, stories, advice and companionship will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Lester Trollinger, of Mineral Wells; children, James Williams, of Kirtland, N.M., and Roger Williams, of Sweeny, Texas; grandchildren, Vickie and Keith Shaw, of Irving, Texas, Ricky and Cindy Williams, of Sweeny, Belinda and Joe Pruitt, of Louisiana, Lora Williams, Wayne and Kathy Williams, both of Kirtland, N.M., and Mike and Patience Williams, of LaPlata, N.M.; great-granddaughter, Misti Iglehart, of Fort Worth; and scores of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and with a host of loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita M. Garrett; grandchildren, C.W. Iglehart III, David Williams and Kathy Christy; her parents; and brothers and sisters.
