- Virginia Mattie Trollinger Owens, 88, of Pine Knot, KY, formerly of Dalton, GA, passed away September 12, 2006, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. Born August 8, 1918, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ellen Trollinger; six sisters, one brother, three half sisters, and two half brothers. She was a born-again Christian, and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She is survived by sons: Rev. James Jerrold Owens and Joan Owens of Pine Knot, KY, and Alvin Eugene Owens of Sacramento, CA; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted September 15, in the chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Rev. James Jerrold Owens officiating. Interment followed in Pine Grove Cemetery.
