- Patsy Louise (LaVarnway) Allen, 77, of Haywood, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023 at her residence surrounded by family.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
Patsy was born January 8, 1946 in Tuska, Oklahoma to Henry Alfred LaVarnway and Golda (Trollinger) LaVarnway. She attended McAlester High School. Patsy was lovingly called "grumpy" by her family, but she loved her family greatly. She was considered a hard and devoted employee. She spent time at Charles Komar & Sons in McAlester as a seamstress, and finally retiring from Wal-Mart. Patsy enjoyed animals, from her cows in the pasture, to her dogs in the home. Her favorite was a dog named Peanut.
She was an avid crochet hobbyist, crocheting blankets, baby items, or anything that grabbed her attention. She loved to travel, going many places, and seeing much of the country. She cherished her time outside in her garden, enjoying growing and maintaining her plants.
Patsy is survived by her son: James Parker and wife Rebecca of Georgia; grandchildren: Zach Miller, Tony Miller, Austen Parker, Brooke Parker, Ryan Parker, and Matthew Parker; siblings: Sherwin Smiddy of Haywood, Patricia LaVarnway of Irving, Texas, Billy LaVarnway and wife Sue of Indianola, David LaVarnway of Euless, Texas, Haskell LaVarnway of Irving, Texas, and Wesley LaVarnway and wife Frankie of Tannehill; plus, numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents: Henry Alfred and Golda (Trollinger) LaVarnway; daughter, Deloris Stone; sister: Betty Cole; brothers: Willie_Emauel LaVarnway, and J.R. LaVarnway; nephew: Damon Parker; nieces: Amber Etzel, and Sherry LaVarnway, and great nephew: Kevin Parker.
