Eileen B. Trolinger, 96, formerly of Milton, WI, died Aug. 5, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Las Cruces, NM. Eileen Bridget Sullivan was born on Aug. 7, 1912, to John and Mae (Mary Ann Murphy) Sullivan in rural Argyle, WI. She attended schools in the Evansville area, and graduated from Evansville High School in 1930. She was married to William Edgar Trolinger in 1930, in Milwaukee, and lived there for a time. She then came to the Janesville area, where she worked for the Parker Pen Company for a brief time, and later as a domestic. She was employed by Chambers and Owen from 1943 until her retirement in 1977.
Eileen was a resident of Milton from 1942, where she was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church. After her retirement, and still enjoying good health, she used her time to look in on her friends and neighbors who weren't as fortunate. She ran errands, helped them with whatever was needed, and sometimes even mowed their lawns. She especially liked to bake, and shared those treats as well. Her family also enjoyed the benefits of her hobby, and all looked forward to "Grandma's fudge!" Hers was a life well lived. Eileen moved to New Mexico in 1999.
She is survived by her five children: John (Harriet) Trolinger of San Diego, CA, Joen Matthews of Las Cruces, NM, Shirley Helgeson of Jefferson, WI, Jack (Alice) and Keith (Marilyn) Stubbendick, both of Janesville, WI; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a sister-in-law, Lyla Drewes of Madison, WI.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sister, Kathryn (Owen) Fraser; her brothers: Harry (Kay) Sullivan, Francis and Bernard Sullivan; son-in-law, Thomas Matthews; and her second life partner, Alfred Stubbendick.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, in ST. PAUL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Evansville, WI, with inurnment following at Maple Hill Cemetery. WARD FUNERAL HOME, Evansville, is assisting the family.
