    • TAYLOR -- WARREN E. Age 91, long time Albuquerque resident, passed away on February 24th. Warren was born on November 15, 1920 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He grew up in South Bend, Indiana. He was an officer in the Army Air Corps during World War II and served in North Africa. He completed his Bachelors degree at Kalamazoo College, where he met his future wife, Ann. They were married in 1947. Warren received his Ph.D. in physics from the Ohio State University in 1952 and was hired by Sandia Laboratories, where he worked as a nuclear physicist and ultra high vacuum technologist until his retirement.

      Throughout his life, Warren was committed to the youth of Albuquerque. He was active in the Boy Scouts for over 30 years and was honored with the Silver Beaver award for his distinguished service. He was active in the youth programs of his church, and served as Sunday School Superintendent and as an Elder. He always enjoyed judging the finals of the New Mexico Science Fair and interacting with the student scientists. He also as an officer in the New Mexico Chapter of the American Vacuum Society.

      Warren always had a great love of the outdoors, and led many a camping trip throughout the Rocky Mountains. He had a great love of all thingenjoyed his interaction with the student scientistss New Mexican. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ellen Ann; three children, three grandchildren, and two nephews. Warren was predeceased in death by his brother, Robert, and parents Clarence and Marjorie. Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Ministry at the Sombra Del Monte Christian Church, where a memorial service celebrating Warren's life will be held on March 1, 2012.
