A resident of Alderson, she died at the age of 65 at the Carl Albert Indian Health Center in Ada. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gene, Joe and Billy Lewis and her best friend, Ima Jean Lay. Janet Lanette (Belcher) Burns, 63 of McAlester died Friday September 24, 2021 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. A viewing will be held 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday September 29, 2021 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Cremation will follow. Janet Lanette was born to Hubert Slater and Norma Dean (Lewis) Belcher on October 21, 1957 in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She married Neal Burns on December 23, 1985 in Wilburton. Janet worked for the McAlester Police Department for 34 years in the communications department. She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Belcher; mother, Norma Dean Trollinger; step father, Charlie Trollinger; brother, Steve Belcher. Janet is survived by husband, Neal Burns of McAlester; brother, Robert Belcher of Krebs; sister, Tammy Sawyer and husband, Randy; nieces, Harmonie Sawyer, Mandy Sawyer all of Alderson, Stephanie Graves of Gainesville, Texas; nephew, Adam Trollinger of Alderson and other family members and friends.
