    • RUPERT - Tommy Joe Miller, a 69-year-old resident of Rupert, diedMonday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Burley Care Center.

      He was born May 3, 1936, in Rupert, the son of James Royal and MaryJane West Miller. He received his education in Rupert, graduating fromRupert High School. He later attended the College of Southern Idaho inTwin Falls. He married Patsy Ruth Jones on Aug. 24, 1974, in Elko,Nev. Joe worked as a farmer for a time and then later as a custodianand in the maintenance department for the City of Rupert.

      He enjoyed watching baseball, football, and basketball. He liked tofish and loved to garden. Joe also enjoyed attending church at PraiseChapel in Rupert. Other interests included time spent outdoors anddriving through the country enjoying the different sights. More thananything else, he loved to spend time with his family.

      To our dear brother, Joe, our eyes fill with tears to think of allyour physical and mental pain you've been through. Now, you can laythat burden down and let Jesus take that burden from you. Our heartshurt when we think of all the pain and suffering you've been through.When all you wanted was to be at home with your pets and working inyour garden. We will miss your great sense-of-humor, because if wecouldn't laugh, all we could do is cry. But, sweet brother, your pathin this life is over. We love you and will miss you.

      Joe is survived by his wife, Patsy Ruth Miller of Twin Falls; his onlydaughter, Mary and her husband, Brent Kobayashi of Rupert; onebrother, Johnny Miller of Heyburn; three sisters, Ruth Ann (Marvin)Fletcher, Marilie Trollinger, and Sarah Sally (Herbert) Bullock all ofRupert; three grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Kallie, Trent andTravis; and four stepchildren, Rueben Jones, III, Benjamin Jones,Robert Jones, and Victoria McConell.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Royal "LittleJoe" Miller; his sister, Ella; one brother, Charles Miller; a nephew,Steven; and a stepdaughter.

      The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at PraiseChapel, 707 F Street, Rupert, with Pastor David J. Graham officiating.Burial will be in Rupert Cemetery.

      Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Rasmussen Funeral Home,1350 E. 16th St., Burley, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Monday at thechurch.
