- Calvin H. Teems, 84, of Hickory Hollow Dr. SW, Cartersville, GA passed away Monday, January 21, 2013.
Mr. Teems was born August 27, 1928 in Bartow County, the son of the late Oscar Lee Teems and Phenia Perkins Teems.
Mr. Teems retired from the Bartow County Recycling Department. He loved to go deep sea fishing in Florida and vacation in Hawaii. He enjoyed tinkering with his tools, rebuilding lawnmower engines and weed eaters and tending to anything else around the house that needed repair. He loved spending time with all of his grandchildren.
Mr. Teems was an active member of The Church at Liberty Square, Cartersville, GA.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Wallace, Leonard, Vernon and Billy Teems; sisters, Lucille Collins, Jeanette Shook and Christine Thomas.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years Gladys Mulkey Teems; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Beverly Teems of Cartersville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Bobby Hinson of Cartersville, GA; grandchildren, Hunter and Hudson Teems of Cartersville, GA and Allen and Margaret Teems of Allen Park, MI; great grandchildren, Gabriella, Gage and Griffin Teems, all of Allen Park, MI; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 24, 2013 from the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Edwards officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cartersville, GA.
Serving as pallbearers are Mike Teems, Austin Teems, Freddie Teems, David Thomas, George Boismier and Ted Sanders.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
