- Clinton Burns
Clinton Burns, 68, of Marietta passed away on Dec. 12, 2007, at theNorth Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He wasborn July 24, 1939, to Grafton and Susie Burns of Marietta. He was afaithful member of the Marietta Church of Christ. He attendedMarietta, then went on to attend Northeast Mississippi CommunityCollege and graduated from Mississippi State University. In 1968 hebecame the owner and operator of Marietta Grocery for more than 25years. He loved playing dominos, farming and spending time with hisfamily, especially with his two grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, atMcMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Calvin Barber, Bro. Tony Brown,Bro. Ronnie Livingston and Bro. Brady Ramey officiating. Burial willbe in the Zion Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 until 9p.m. and until service time on Saturday.
He is survived by his family, Betty Burns, Ronald, Melissa, Beau andClint Burns, all of Marietta; one sister, Doris Trollinger ofMarietta; one brother, Kenneth (Sara) Burns of Madison; his specialextended family, one brother-in-law, L.P. (Sue) Ramey of Fulton; threesisters-in-law, Sue (Billy) Trimble, Sandy Ramey and Judy Ramey, allof Marietta; special nieces and nephews, Michael Ramey and family,Gail Baird and family, Jason Ramey and family, Alaine Estes andfamily, great-great-niece, Zoe Trollinger, and Billy Joe and MarkBarnes and family.
Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Barnes, Mark Barnes, Jimmy Dale Loden,Carroll Ivy, L.P. Ramey, Elbert Ray Bennett, Paul Jackson, NathanBrown, C.T. Moore, Billy Whitley, Bubba Pounds and Bobby "Beaver"Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Marietta Church of Christ family.
