      Edward Henry Wiegert Jr., 74, of Brunswick died Monday, May 16, 2005,at his residence.
      He was a native of Chicago, Illinois, and had been a resident of GlynnCounty for the past 45 years. He retired from the U. S. Navy in 1967and then retired as a sergeant from the Brunswick Police Department in1992. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the PoliceBenevolent Association.
      He is survived by his wife, Barbara D. Wiegert of Brunswick; threedaughters, Deborah K. Wiegert (Carla) and Rebecca W. Trollinger, bothof Brunswick, and Leah H. Antonides (Tony) of Meridian, Mississippi;three brothers, Harvey Wiegert of Kialua, Hawaii, Richard Johns ofMadison, Wisconsin, and Alan Johns of Arizona; two sisters, BettyRuttan of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Arlene Wirth of Longmont, Colorado;three grandchildren, Christie Trollinger, Michael Antonides and JoeyAntonides; a great-grandson, Mikah Wilson; and extended family, CarolNichols of Brunswick.
      A memorial gathering will be held, with military honors, at 11 a. m.Friday in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
      Honorary pallbearers will be present and former members of theBrunswick Police Department, Leland Moore, Orion Douglass and RonMaulden.
      The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday and suggests those wishing make memorial contributions to acharity of the donor's choice.
