  	Margaret "Peggy" Kissinger of Gloucester, VA, went home to Heaven on September 5, 2015. She passed away at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. She was 92 years old. She was preceded in death by Her husband of 58 years, Rev. George M. Kissinger III; her parents Walter and Elizabeth Hollis; sister, Anne Jenkins; and brother, James Hollis. She is survived by two sons George and John; daughter Judy; grandson Jason; and a sister Frances Wilson of North Carolina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. A retired school teacher, Margaret taught 4th grade in Newport News for 23 years. She continued to work as a substitute teacher, even after her retirement and subsequent move to Gloucester in 1985. She married her husband, George in 1949, sharing in his ministry for over 50 years as he served as pastor of Union Baptist Church in Gloucester, and later, as Superintendent of Missions of the Peninsula Southern Baptist Association in Newport News. In her final years, she was cared for at home by her family, as she battled a devastating dementia that slowly took her both mentally and physically. But, even as it took away her memories, she left us with many to cherish, as well as more gratitude than regret during this long process of letting go. We are thankful to friends and family who offered consistent love and support throughout her journey and ours. In life, faith sustained her, and our faith gives us peace in knowing she is now home with Jesus. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Peter Zullo, who cared for both Margaret and her husband over many years, with patience, kindness, and sensitivity; and Dr. Sarah E. West and Katherine "Kacki" Haggerty of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, for exemplary skills and compassion during very difficult times Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory of Gloucester, handled arrangements, Memorial services were private. Margaret's remains will be interred next to her husband's at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News. The family asks that Margaret's memory be honored through donations to the Virginia Baptist Mission Board in Richmond, Union Baptist Church in Gloucester, and Gloucester Point Baptist Church in Gloucester.
