  	PERRYTON - Yvonne "Vonie" Rogers, 86, died Sunday, March 23, 2014. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Metzger officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Vonie was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Beaver County, Okla. She married Gale Spencer Rogers on Nov. 25, 1951, in Perryton. He preceded her in death in 2011. Vonie was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a devoted caretaker, a longtime member of Jenny June Club and briefly taught school in Perryton and Spearman. Survivors include a son, Jeff Spencer Rogers and wife Linda of Perryton; a daughter, Ann Burandt and husband Phil of Perryton; five granddaughters, Shannon Rogers of Platter, Okla., Meagan Rogers and Whitney Pickett and husband Jimmy, all of Perryton, Brooke Rogers of Liberal, Kan., and Laura Burandt of Canyon; a grandson, Ben Burandt of Perryton; four great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Don Rogers and wife Mary of Perryton; a sister-in-law, Jane Hudson of Perryton; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Pathways at Frank Phillips College, 2314 S. Jefferson St., Perryton, TX 79070; or Museum of the Plains, 1200 N. Main St., Perryton, TX 79070. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. (Published in Amarillo Globe-News, March 25, 2014)
