- TROLLINGER, OLGA ROBINSON
Died on December 21, 2003 of cancer at her home. A long time resident of the Falls Church area of Fairfax County.
She was born in Palmer, MA and moved to Washington, D.C. in 1936 to attend Marjorie Webster School.
She worked for the U.S. Justice Department. In 1938 she married the late Richard H. Robinson, Sr. and they relocated to New Mexico. The marriage produced three children and ended in divorce.
Olga returned to Washington, D.C. in 1946 to work in the office of NM Sen. Clinton Anderson. In May 1973, she married James T. Trollinger of the U.S. Capitol Police, and continued working on the Hill for the Senate Appropriations Committee until her retirement in 1987.
She is survived by her husband and her children,
Richard Harden Robinson Jr. and
Pamela E. Robinson of Richmond, VA and
Patricia A. Hackett of Ft. Belvoir, VA; grandson
Lt. Richard H. Robinson III, USMC, and granddaughter Alison Singer; sister
Helen Mould, several nieces, nephews, step-children, and step-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call at MURPHY'S FALLS CHURCH FUNERAL HOME, 1102 W. Broad St., Falls Church, VA on Friday, December 26, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 103 N. Spring St., Falls Church, VA followed by burial at National Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northern Virginia, 9300 Lee Hwy., Suite 500, Fairfax, VA 22031. Published in The Washington Post on Dec. 23, 2003.

WHEREAS, Olga R. Trollinger, a longtime resident of Falls Church and a prominent member of the community, died on December 21, 2003; and
WHEREAS, a native of Massachusetts, Olga Trollinger attended the Marjorie Webster School in Washington, D.C., and later moved with her first husband, the late Richard H. Robinson, Sr., to New Mexico, where he was elected Attorney General in 1954; and
WHEREAS, Olga Trollinger returned to the Washington area in 1962 and worked in the Washington office of United States Senator Clinton P. Anderson of New Mexico; and
WHEREAS, after her marriage to Inspector James P.[T.] Trollinger [Trolinger] of the United States Capitol Police, Olga Trollinger continued working on Capitol Hill for the Senate Appropriations Committee until her retirement in 1987; and
WHEREAS, both Olga Trollinger and her husband were heavily involved innumerous community and political activities and organizations in Falls Church; and
WHEREAS, during a life of substantial achievement, Olga Trollinger served her family, her community, and the nation with great dedication and commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with sadness the passing of an exceptional Virginian, Olga R. Trollinger; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Olga R. Trollinger as an expression of the respect in which her memory is held by the members of the General Assembly. [end]
