Mr. Trolinger was born in Dallas on Feb. 9, 1920, but claimed Mission as his home. He attended Edinburg Junior College and the University of Oklahoma. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1945. While serving in England with the 8th Air Force as a 1st Lt. Bombardier, he was shot down and spent one year as a P.O.W. by the Germans at Stalag Luft III at Sagan, Germany, in western Poland. He was a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society and a member of the Red Stick Chapters of Ex P.O.W.'s.
He is survived by his daughters, Jill Trolinger Bushart of Baton Rouge and Susan Trolinger Whitfield of Winter Park, Fla.; sister, Reba Bremer of Enid, Okla.; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Jeanette Rucker Trolinger; sister, Jeanne Jones; and brother, E.R. Fry.
A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 10615 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
