- David Michael Trollinger
November 19, 1960 - August 19, 2021
David Michael Trollinger passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
David was born on November 19, 1960, in Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ashton and Ida Trollinger, John and Marion Dixon, and his father, Walter. David is survived by his mother, Barbara; brothers, John and wife, Becky, and Steven and wife, Connie; seven nieces and nephews, Matthew and fiancée, Alexandria, Marc, Paul, Ashlyn, Carissa, John, and Sophie; and two special cousins, Lisa Miller; and Gene Miller and wife, Kathy.
Dave grew up in Washington, D.C. and was an avid Washington sports fan - Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Capitals and Maryland Terrapins. Dave attended Friendly High School in Fort Washington, Md., where he excelled in baseball. Dave went on to complete his Bachelor's Degree in Management at Old Dominion University. After graduating, Dave moved to Roanoke, Virginia and became assistant baseball coach at Cave Springs High School. In 1989, Cave Springs finished 2nd in the state, an accomplishment Dave was very proud of. Another industry Dave excelled in was the restaurant industry. Dave worked in two of the most prestigious restaurants in our country, the Old Ebbitt Grill and Abe and Louie's.
Dave loved golf and eating Maryland blue crabs. He was a huge fan of whiffle ball and putt-putt golf where he claimed "he never lost". He really enjoyed playing "dunk" with his nieces and nephews in the swimming pool. Nothing made Dave happier than being with his family and friends, either on trips or family gatherings.
Dave was an affectionate son and a caring, loving brother and Uncle. Dave was cherished by many and will be greatly missed. He was a man of faith and may he Rest In Peace in his new home and body with our Lord and Savior.
There will be a small service for immediate family members only.
Glick Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
