He is survived by a son, Marvin Hooker of Burlington; five daughters, Sarah Garrett, Sandra Lawson (Coy) and Rita McLaughlin, all of Graham, Linda Franklin of Burlington and Margaret Booker of Green Level; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the Rev. Virginia Trollinger Hooker; father, Moses Wyatt Hooker; and mother, Maggie Gibson Hooker.
The funeral will be held Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at 1 p.m. at House of Prayer in Burlington. Interment will be at Children's Chapel UCC church cemetery.
A family and friends visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
Services are entrusted to David B. Lawson Mortuary Inc., Burlington.
