- PROSPECT HILL - Kenneth Lee "Mac" McIntyre, 82, of Prospect Hill, died Friday, September 20, 2019 at his home. Born in Alamance County, he was the son of the late Carl Richard McIntyre and Ruth Blalock McIntyre. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Carl McIntyre and great-grandson, Rylee Trollinger.
Mr. McIntyre was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He retired as a plant manager for Burlington Textile Machinery. Mr. McIntyre was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Carol H. McIntyre of the home; six children: Vicki Holt (Tim), Sharon Lailson (Gary), Teresa Upchurch (Chuck), Lisa McCormick, Douglas McIntyre (Tanya) and Cindy Petree; five siblings: Betty Hermansdorfer, Ray McIntyre (Pat), Nancy Trent (Bill), Mark McIntyre (Gwen) and Susan Baggett (Max); sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two stepchildren; two step-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Bethel United Methodist Church of Prospect Hill. Officiating will be the Rev. John Upton and the Rev. Joe Jackson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (1-2 p.m.).
