  Dear Gordon, I went up a blind alley this morning. I visited the Warren County genealogical Society in Lebanon, Ohio in an attempt to determine if the Barbara Harkrider I had discovered was Barbara Drollinger. After looking in several volumes, I discovered a burial of a Barbara Harkrider in November 1849. Age over 71 years, so I obviously concluded she wasn't the person we seek. There were other records there pertaining to counties other than Warren, so I browsed the Darke County records. In the minutes of the Court of Common Pleas, I found a very interesting item: 5-6-1839: Eli Mikesell aged 19 yrs., Christian Mikesell, aged 17 yrs., and Jerhua Mikesell, aged 15 yrs., chose Elijah Harkrider as their guardian. It seems, according to information I received from Margaret Bullock of Woodland, California, that Barbara had a brother, Aaron, who married an Elizabeth Mikesell in Darke County in 1835. I have to wonder if these three people were younger siblings of Elizabeth. I think a trip to the Darke County Historical Society is now very much in order, with a stop at the court house as I go through Preble County to get a copy of the marriage record of Elijah and Barbara.
