In the 1870 Census her age is provided (most likely by herself to the census taker) as 28 years old which would yield a birth year of about 1842. Later, in the 1880 Census her age is provided as 35 years old which would yield a birth year of about 1845. Her birth year is provided herein as 1838 based upon her headstone inscription with the understanding that 1838 is suspect given the other data cited.
