September 22, 1919 - November 5, 2008
Mollie, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully with her family by her side November 5, 2008 at Reno's Lifecare Center. Mollie was born in LaGrande, OR, to Howard and Grace Trull. Mollie lived most of her life in Reno. She was one of the first female dealers in the state of Nevada. She moved to Oklahoma in 1951 and returned home to Reno in 1961. Mollie dealt roulette and 21 at Harold's Club, the Nevada Club, the Prima Donna, the Overland Hotel and the Riverside. In 1972 she moved to Gerlach with her then husband, Ralph Patrone. She continued to work at the Overland Hotel in Reno part time. While in Gerlach she served as Justice of the Peace, drove the school bus and worked as a cook for Gerlach High School. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary Club. Those were happy years spent camping, fishing and chukar hunting with her family. She moved back to Reno in 1977 and worked at the Riverside until her retirement in 1984.
In her younger years she loved to ride motorcycles and play golf. She was an avid sports fan. After her retirement Mollie spent her days at her many grandchildren's volleyball, softball, football, basketball and baseball games as well as swim meets and diving competitions. She was always the proudest grandmother in the stands. She enjoyed reading, playing scrabble and doing her crossword puzzles every day (always in ink!). She especially loved playing rummy. But mostly she just loved being surrounded by her family.
Mollie was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Trull and her oldest child, JoAnne Whitlicki. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Laura Turnbow of Reno; daughter, Barbara Shibley of Reno; daughter and son-in-law, Maryanne and Bill Paganetti of Reno; son, Glen Turnbow of Woodland, CA; and son and daughter- in-law, Keith and Denise Turnbow of Reno; her grandchildren, Laurie, Gary and Steve Armstrong of Oklahoma; Tom Shibley and partner, Noel Page of Atlanta, GA; Mollie Paganetti-Bell of Reno; David Shibley of Reno; Julie Whitlicki of Idaho; Candace Lucchetti and husband, Ryan of Sacramento, CA; Summer Edwards and husband, Kevin of Reno; Alicia Whittemore and husband, D.J. of Reno; Joel Turnbow of Reno; Billy Paganetti of Reno; Dalton Turnbow of Reno; Kelly Turnbow of Reno; Cassandra Cornejo of Reno and Julie Turnbow of Woodland, CA; her great- grandchildren, Ashley and Candace Shibley of Reno; Camela, Ryan, Stefani and Ava Bell of Reno; Frank, Natale and Rocco Lucchetti of Sacramento; Mack, Rex and Duke Edwards of Reno; Aidan, George, Fiona and Gwyneth Whittemore of Reno and Destiny Turnbow of Reno. She was the heart of our family and will be missed every day for the rest of our lives.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the devoted staff at the Lifecare Center of Reno for their kindness, compassion and support over the past 14 months. They took such wonderful care of her, always allowing her to maintain her dignity throughout some very difficult times.
A private service was held on November 7, 2008 at the Mountain View Mausoleum. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Mollie's name to the Lifecare Center of Reno; 445 W. Holcomb Ranch Lane, Reno, 89511. Donations can be made in care of Cindy Culley to help with the Holiday Baskets for the staff.
