From The Weekly Coast Mail, Marshfield, Oregon, Jun 11, 1904:
"Holt Bonebrake, the young man who was operated on for appendicitis inthis city last Sunday, died at the city hospital here this morning at6:40. Mr. Bonebrake, whose home is in Goldendale, Washington, was inMarshfield visiting friends and relatives when the attack ofappendicitis set in and it was found by the physicians that animmediate operation was necessary. The operation was performed by Dr.Horsfall assisted by other physicians of this city last Sunday and asthe case was a very complicated one it was thought best to notify theparents of the unfortunate young man that his condition was veryserious. Immediately on receipt of the message the parents, Dr. andMrs. Allen Bonebrake, started for this city at once, arriving herelast Monday, and were with their son up to the time of his death.
Mr. Bonebrake lacked but a few weeks of being eighteen years of ageand was a young man of the best moral habits and one whose faculty formaking friends rendered him extremely popular with all who met him.
The remains were embalmed this morning and with the next NorthboundAlliance will be carried back to the Washington home for burial."
