I have suggested an unusual change to Malinda Elizabeth Hudson Ray Woodard's memorial page, in that it is to her birthdate. As I did look at her Missouri death certificate, I can see that the date posted earlier came from that. She was actually born in 1863, because she was listed as a 7-year-old in the 1870 census. Census mistakes are sometimes made, but she had both younger and older siblings in that census, so I think it must be correct. Like many women of her day, she moved her birth year forward in time as she aged, at one point listing it as about 1870. The 1851 date would have made her older than both of her husbands, by the way, something that would also have been very unusual. I suspect that the date on the certificate is wrong simply because she was very old, in any case, and because it was supplied by her son, who probably didn't know the real date. I would like to link her page to that of her first husband, but it doesn't look as if one has been created, and I haven't located his grave. His name was Samuel L. Ray, b. September, 1855, probably near Cumberland, Clark County, Illinois, d. 11 March, 1902, in Charleston, Coles County, Illinois. They had 3 sons and a daughter.
