Aunt Laura was some thing different for time as she worked while most wives were stay at home. She worked at a place called Maloney's Art Galley which despite the name was a resturant. It also sold paintings so hence the name. she wore a uniform of a black dress, white apron and little white cap. My mother took me there a couple times but being a young child I didn't appreciate the experience. When I was a teen she took me and my cousin Bobby to Center Island in Toronto harbour. It was a wonderful experience that I enjoyed. We took the street car and then a ferry to the island. At the time the city was buying up the properties and tearing down the cottages to make it a city owned park. We rented bicycles and rode around and swam in the lake. And of course lunch was fish and chips!
