  VEEDERSBURG, Ind. ? Genevieve "Jenny" Louise (Shelley) Minick, 87, of Veedersburg passed away at 12:21 a.m. EDT Saturday, June 18, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport. Jenny was born Aug. 17, 1923, in Veedersburg, the daughter of Walter and Lou Ethel (Smith) Shelley. She was a life resident of the Veedersburg area. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She cherished her family and friends. She married Angus Minick on Aug. 5, 1938, in Covington, Ind. He survives, along with five sons, Harold (Sherry) Minick of Las Vegas, Nev., Gerald (Jean) Minick of Hoopeston, Ill., Carl (Leah Mae) Minick of Wallace, and William (Connie) Minick and Richard Minick, both of Veedersburg; two daughters, Sandra (Garry) Henderson of Veedersburg and Helen (Robert) Jumps of Rockville; 22 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 32 great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ethel Overpeck of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; one brother-in-law, Willard Cates of Covington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Shelley and Howard Shelley; two sisters, Helen Shelley and Ruth Cates; one granddaughter, Shelley McKenzie and one great-grandson, Nathan McKenzie, both of Las Vegas; three brothers-in-law, Walter Minick, Dewey Minick and Simon Minick; sisters-in-law, Helen Shelley, Elise Flint Shelley, Fern Crothers, Audrey Lowry, Francis Vanhook Minick, Lois Carrington Minick and Christine Hancock Booe. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. EDT Monday, June 20, 2011, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. EDT Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Lower Mound Cemetery near Perrysville.
