  	Jerome Joseph Schaefer, 81, of Evansville, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at Columbia Healthcare Center. Jerome was born April 5, 1925, in Evansville, Ind., to Aloysius and Rosella (Loehr) Schaefer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, June Audrey (Druelinger) Schaefer, who died April 1, 1998, and two brothers Eugene and Louis Schaefer. Jerome was a loving father, grandpa, great-grandpa and will be greatly missed by all. His children remember him as a tireless provider for his family by working two jobs most of his life. Jerome was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in the city, where he was a Eucharist Minister and was in the Evansville Cursillo Movement. He was retired from International Steel. Surviving are one daughter, Mary Barry and her husband, Robert of Torrance, Calif., six sons, David and his wife, Pamela, Charles and his wife, Debbie, James and his wife, Sherry, and Phillip, all of Evansville, John and his wife, Debra of Chandler, and Michael and his wife, Trina of Elberfeld. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert and Raymond Schaefer of Elberfeld; 22 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at Columbia Healthcare Center and Southern Care Hospice. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at the Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, continuing with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in the city, Rev. William A. Traylor officiating, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Titzer Family Funeral Homes, Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, 100 E. Columbia St., Evansville Ind., 47711, (812) 424-9274, where a memorial service will be at 5:30 p.m. family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in the city.
