  	January 03, 2006 11:00 pm A 56-year-old Huntington Beach, Calif., man who jumped to his death off the South Rim of the Grand Canyon on Dec. 26 committed suicide, investigators concluded. Visitors saw Donald Hansen Jr. jump off the edge of the canyon just east of Yavapai Observation Station, at Yavapai Point, at about 8:30 a.m. the day after Christmas and called for help. He fell about 500 feet and his body was recovered by Park Service rangers, then turned over to the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office. Hansen had attempted suicide before according to his family, said Leah McGinnis, interim spokeswoman at the Grand Canyon.
