On Friday June 21, Monroe County Sheriff's Office Deputy Kim Trullender, 59, passed away unexpectedly.
After serving 10 years in the U.S. Navy, Kim came to work for the Sheriff's Office in 2006.
Deputy Trullender was a man who was truly devoted to the children of Monroe County and to the Key West Library, donating his time and energy to many of the library programs over the years.
His dedication and consummate professionalism were a positive influence on us all. His sense of humor, sage advice and giving nature are what we will miss the most.
He is survived by his beloved goddaughter Julia Albert. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Keys Vineyard Church, 100 County Road, Big Pine Key, Florida.
