  	Donald Gene Wilkinson, 80, of Rockport, Indiana passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Miller"s Merry Manor in Rockport, Indiana. Gene was born in Rockport, Indiana on May 31, 1931 to the late Eddie and Amanda (Doulinger) Wilkinson. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Rockport American Legion Post 254. Gene was a police officer with the city of Rockport for over 20 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marquerite Wilkinson; Son, Roger Dean Wilkinson Sr.; Siblings, Amy Fodge, Bob, Bill, and LeRoy Wilkinson. Gene is survived by his son, David Wayne Wilkinson Sr. and his wife, Judy of Rockport, IN; Grandchildren, David Wilkinson Jr., Amanda Wilkinson, Shawn Wilkinson, Dawn Wilkinson, Jamie Parker, Roger Wilkinson Jr., Stephanie Wilkinson, Lindsay Neu, Landon Wilkinson; 18 Great-grandchildren; One great-great-grandchild; Brothers, Mike, Wink and Norman Wilkinson. Services are 2 P.M. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Indiana with Rev. Carl Jones officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Indiana. The Rockport American Legion Post 254 will conduct military honors. Visitation is from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
