- Juliana "Judy" Elaine Wheatley, 88, of Susquehanna Twp., transitioned peacefully on Saturday October 29, 2016, at Harrisburg Hospital.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on November 10, 1927, Judy was the daughter of the late Rudolph D. and Sarah Anna (Swartz) Hospers and was raised in Penbrook, PA with close family and friends and where she was a lifelong member of Grace Church.
Judy graduated from John Harris High School. In 1949, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech from Northwestern University where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Judy later earned a Speech Therapy Certification from Temple University and a Master of Education degree from Shippensburg University.
Judy was a retired Harrisburg School District teacher. She loved all animals and was a passionate advocate for the American Pit Bull Terrier dog breed. Judy especially cherished time she spent with her two beloved "grand pitties," Victor and Sophie.
Judy is survived by a daughter, Mary Foreman and her husband Arthur of Harrisburg, and two grandsons, Mark and Dan. A private family burial will take place at Shoop's Cemetery Garden of Rest, Hbg, PA where Judy will join her mother, father and grandparents.
