  Henry was the son of Ridley and Eviza Ross. He grew up in Sonoma County, later moving to San Diego County with his parents. On June 26, 1899 he married Birdie Barbara Mixon. They had one daughter. He worked most of his life as a barber. His second marriage was to Lola Gore. At the time, he was living in Alameda County. On Jan 26, 1915, he married Eva Anna Harris. They lived in Scotts Valley for a time before moving to Ukiah. He owned and operated a barber shop in Ukiah. Henry lived to the age of 60 years.
