Richard Edward Hudson, Jr., 88, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021. He was born on January 25, 1933 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late, Richard Edward Hudson, Sr. and Thelma Trollenger Hudson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Hudson Potter; and his brother, Robert Carl Hudson. He loved trains and was an avid collector and model railroader. Richard was a member of River Shore Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Lou Hudson; daughter, Diana Lynn Stuart; sons, Richard Edward Hudson, III, Stephen Bradley Hudson, and Michael Allen Hudson; brothers, Walter Hudson, Donald Hudson, and Billy Hudson; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Following the service the family will receive friends at the home of Diana and David Stuart, 308 Marsh View Ct. Carrollton, Virginia 23314.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to offset expenses.
